Children's Charity Classic
The 2008 Children’s Charity Classic raised over $700,000 for many central Kentucky children's charities.
Held in June, Baptist Health Lexington again partnered with Children’s Charity Fund for week-long event, including the Lexington Area Sports Authority Tee-Off Luncheon, a Kids' Jamboree children's event, the Larry Gilbert Foundation celebrity golf tournament, the Children's Charity Cabaret musical event and the main attraction, the two-day Children's Charity Classic golf event at Greenbrier Golf and Country Club and Andover Country Club. Proceeds have doubled since 2002 when CBH became a major sponsor of the event.
Recipients include Children's Development Center of the Bluegrass, the Ronald McDonald House and Big Brother/Big Sisters.
Over the past 22 years, the Children’s Charity Celebrity Golf Classic has raised more than $3.4 million dollars for the children of central Kentucky. In 2001 alone, the Fund contributed money to 17 different charities that affected the lives of over 40,000 children.
The Children’s Charity Fund of the Bluegrass was founded in 1981 to help provide needed funds for the Child Development Center of the Bluegrass, an agency that provides a full range of services for children from birth to 5 years of age who have disabilities.
