Central Baptist Hospital Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are a vital part of our healthcare team. These men and women give their time and talents to make Central Baptist a warm, friendly place.

Making a Difference

Central Baptist Hospital has some 150 adult volunteers who contribute more than 32,000 hours to the hospital each year. They perform a myriad of very important services, such as:
  • escorting newly-admitted patients to their rooms.
  • escorting outpatients to the surgical area.
  • delivering mail and flowers.
  • working on nursing units.
  • providing information and assistance to patient families.
  • working in our patient representative program
Our volunteers make a real difference by providing all the little extras our patients have come to appreciate.

In addition to working directly with patients and families, our volunteers provide many other important services, including:
  • staffing the hospital gift shop;
  • funding Central Baptist Hospital Home Response Program featuring Lifeline, that allows people to remain in their homes but receive emergency help if needed, and installing the system in subscriber homes;
  • supplying magazines and other reading materials to all waiting rooms;
  • assisting in the home health office and the Outpatient Diagnostic Center;
  • providing a white New Testament to each of our newest patients;
  • raising funds for the purchase of hospital equipment and educational materials.
More detailed information is available on the above opportunities.
