Parents want to shop. Kids want to play. Now both can have their way, thanks to a new children’s play area that opened recently in the center court of Fayette Mall.

Sponsored by Central Baptist Hospital, the play area features climb-on toys and interactive play stations focused around the theme of a baby’s playpen. Designed to help make shopping fun for kids and less stressful for their parents, the play area will be open year-round during shopping hours.

"We are extremely pleased to host such a unique amenity for Fayette Mall shoppers with small children. We're likewise excited to be partners with Central Baptist Hospital in offering what we expect to be a very popular stop for central Kentucky parents while they are shopping," said Myron Worley, Fayette Mall's general manager.

No one under 42 inches will be able to resist the approximately 1,000-square-foot play area. Climbing and crawling are encouraged, but adult supervision is required. It also will be the site of Central Baptist Hospital health screenings throughout the year.
