CBH Named Consumer Choice Award Winner for Third Straight Time

The people of Lexington have spoken and – for the third consecutive time – they have named Central Baptist Hospital Lexington’s Consumer Choice Award winner.

Each year, National Research Corporation (NRC) honors hospitals that consumers rate as having the best quality and image, based on the nationally syndicated NRC Healthcare Market Guide study of more than 140,000 households. A leader in healthcare performance measurement, NRC has surveyed Lexington for three years, and CBH has come out on top every time.

"This honor confirms that the people we serve respect and appreciate the kind of healthcare we provide at Central Baptist Hospital," said William G. Sisson, president/CEO. "We appreciate the vote of confidence Lexington has given us for three consecutive years. I’m proud of our staff and the difference that their care makes in our patients’ lives. Being honored alongside such facilities as Johns Hopkins, Cleveland Clinic and Duke is a strong commitment to the quality of care we provide at CBH."

Winners are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings collected in the company’s annual NRC Healthcare Market Guide® study. Of the 3,000 hospitals named nationally by consumers in the study, 178 facilities were identified in their respective markets as Consumer Choice Award winners. The winning facilities rank highest in their Metropolitan Statistical Areas, as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau.

"With the industry’s shift to a consumer-driven model, we are pleased to recognize the facilities named as leaders by those they serve," said Michael Hays, NRC president/CEO. "The winners deserve recognition for the emphasis they have placed on providing quality, patient-centered care."
