CBH Home Health Receives Top Rankings Among Area Agencies

The Central Baptist Home Health Care recently ranked number one in patient care in the Home Health Compare Scores provided by the Home Health Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS).

According to rankings, from December 2004 – November 2005, Central Baptist Home Health received the highest average rankings among area agencies and ranked above state and national averages in almost every measure. These scores show, through 10 quality measures, how well agencies care for their patients.

Based on percentages, the measures are ranked in the following categories: patients who become better at walking, moving around and getting in and out of bed; patients who have less pain when moving around; patients whose bladder control improves; patients who become better at taking their medication correctly and bathing; patients who are short of breath less often; patients who stay at home after an episode of home health care ends; patients who had to be admitted to the hospital; and patients who need urgent, unplanned medical care.

All Medicare-certified home health agencies must provide this information about a patients’ physical and mental health. This in turn shows whether their patient’s ability to perform basic daily activities has improved or maintained.

As you can see by the graph, home health staff members are clearly making a difference in their patients’ recovery by helping them regain their independence.

CBH Home Health care provides a wide range of services for patients including: skilled nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapies, home infusion, social services and non-medical private duty.

Central Baptist Hospital Health Care is licensed to service patients who live in the following counties: Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Garrard, Harrison, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Scott, and Woodford counties. A physician must order this service.
