Mammography services are provided by experienced female technologists with your privacy and comfort in mind. Screening mammography is offered Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. During the procedure, your breasts will be placed between two plates and X-rayed. Usually each breast is X-rayed twice (from the top and from the side). Adequate compression is essential to a good image of your breast, but if it becomes too uncomfortable, the pressure can be released instantly. We also warm the X-ray plates for you.
On the day of your mammogram, remember:
- Bring all outside fims/ultrasounds with you.
- Wear a two-piece outfit, so you can stay dressed from the waist down during your exam.
- Don't use any powders or underarm deodorants, because they can interfere with your results.
