Oncology Social Worker

Central Baptist's oncology social worker is available to help meet the emotional and informational needs of cancer patients and their support networks.

When facing a diagnosis of cancer, everyone has their own strengths, values, knowledge and problem-solving style. The oncology social worker makes sure each patient receives services and support in areas such as:
  • Eligibility for disability and financial assistance
  • Bill-paying services
  • Interpreting insurance reimbursement
  • Advance directives (such as living wills, durable powers of attorney and healthcare surrogates)
  • Questions of competency or informed consent
  • Caregiver and family stress
  • Alternative living arrangements
