The cancer registry is responsible for collecting information on all patients diagnosed and treated for cancer at Central Baptist Hospital, as mandated by state law.
Types of data collected include:
- demographic information (age, gender, etc.);
- cancer identification;
- treatment information; and
- annual follow-up.
The data is submitted to the
Kentucky Cancer Registry and the National Cancer Database (NCDB). This allows Central Baptist to compare our cancer care with state and national practice.
The cancer registry is required to maintain lifetime follow-up of all cancer patients. Therefore, the staff contacts the doctor, patient or family once a year to update the registry's information on the patient's condition.
The registry maintains strict patient confidentiality. For more information about Central Baptist Hospital's cancer registry, please call
