Central Baptist Hospital, Hospice of the Bluegrass and surrounding hospices sponsor a hospice nurse liaison to improve hospital care for patients who are terminally ill.

The hospice nurse liaison is available full time at Central Baptist to:

• act as an advocate and case manager for hospice patients admitted to Central Baptist Hospital.
• speed up discharge and simplify the appropriate response for hospice patients in the most caring way possible.
• provide information and education about hospice services to patients, families and professional staff.
• serve as a consultant to hospital professionals concerning hospice programs, palliative care, pain management and hospice Medicare/Medicaid/third party reimbursement.

The hospice nurse liaison's services are available to all Central Baptist Hospital patients who are terminally ill with a life expectancy of less than six months.
