Cancer Treatment
 
The Cancer Care Center's treatment facilities include:
  • An inpatient medical oncology unit offering patient-centered care;
  • Surgical facilities offering the most advanced surgical treatment of cancer, including minimally invasive techniques for many types of cancer; 
  • Comprehensive Radiation Oncology Center to provide radiation therapy to cancer patients;
  • Multidisciplinary clinics that take a team approach to fighting cancer;
  • Outpatient Infusion Center, providing chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics and other infusion therapies in a comfortable outpatient setting;
  • Clinical research program offering some of the most advanced clinical trials in the region;
  • Rehab services, including physical, occupational and speech therapies to help patients prevent or regain loss of function following cancer treatment. The lymphedema program offers prevention and treatment for this condition;
  • Palliative care, providing family-centered care to those with life-limiting illness who are experiencing uncontrolled symptoms;
  • Complementary therapies to integrate into your treatment; and
  • Central Baptist Hospital Home Health Care offering in-home services such as nursing care and home infusion therapies.
At the Central Baptist Hospital Cancer Care Center, we use a team approach to care. In addition to physicians and nurses, our treatment team includes:
  • Oncology clinical nurse specialists to help patients and families navigate the healthcare process;
  • Oncology social worker to help patients and families deal with financial, insurance and other issues that can arise;
  • Chaplains to help patients reclaim their spiritual strength;
  • Clinical dietitians to provide care and information on nutrition and cancer;
  • A hospital-based hospice nurse liaison who works with patients, families and staff to meet the special needs of hospice care patients;
  • An enterostomal therapist to provide care and education for patients who have had bowel or bladder diversions; and
  • Physical, occupational and speech therapists to help restore or maximize functions affected by cancer and cancer treatments.
