The course is designed with the intent to provide a consistent standardized knowledge base and approach among nurses rendering trauma care. It is intended to enhance cognitive skills, to sharpen technical skills and to provide a foundation for future learning. The ultimate purpose is to improve the level of nursing care provided in emergency settings. The TNCC provider is designed to provide core-level trauma knowledge and psychomotor skills associated with the delivery of professional nursing care to the trauma patient. Content is presented through lectures and two psychomotor skill stations.
The Emergency Nurses Association Trauma Nursing Core Course may be officially attended only by registered nurses. Other healthcare providers may audit a course on a space available basis; however, continuing education credits and verification of successful course completion will not be awarded.
This class has a limited number of available slots including a $50.00 charge for those individuals in which this class is not a CBH job-specific requirement.

- review epidemiology and mechanism of injury.
