Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Recertification
 

CBH EMPLOYEES ONLY
This recertification class is designed for ACLS providers with current certification.
CBH critical care staff with 5 years experience are required to attend one-day recertification. This course will require self-study and preparation. Participants will be expected to successfully complete all skill stations and a written exam (passing grade of 84% or more) to receive ACLS recertification.
Class day is testing only.

Beginning January 1, 2008 no one will be admitted without  your Confirmation Letter.

If lost or deleted, contact Educational Development Department to obtain another
Confirmation Letter  2 days prior to class.

Location Education Center - Bldg E
Target Audience RNs, LPNs, Paramedics who have valid ACLS certification and work with a critical care patients at CBH.

NOTE:
*If this course is not required for your area there will be a $25.00 charge to the employee utilizing your E-Voucher at completion of this class.

Prerequisites
  • Pre-registration is required.
  • Confirmation Letter required for admittance.
  • Five years critical care experience
  • Current BLS card
Objectives

At the conclusion of this course the participant should be able to:

  1. demonstrate satisfactory one-person adult CPR and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
  2. demonstrate knowledge of basic and advanced airway adjuncts.
  3. demonstrate satisfactory use of conventional defibrillator/monitors.
  4. recognize the most common cardiac dysrhythmias and determine appropriate treatment based on patient condition.
  5. manage the first 10 minutes of an arrest due to ventricular fibrillation.

Obtain in department/unit or library (please call for availability). 
If manuals are not returned with 10 days of completion there
