  • National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health
    The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and is the only federal Institute responsible for conducting research and making recommendations for the prevention of work-related illnesses and injuries.

  • American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons

Organ Donation

  • Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates
    KODA is the federally designated organ procurement organization for most of Kentucky and portions of West Virginia and southern Indiana. The site includes a FAQ on organ donation and an online donor registration card.
  • UNOS
    The United Network for Organ Sharing manages the national transplant waiting list, matching donors to recipients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The site includes news about organ donation and transplantation, information for transplant patients, a searchable data base on organ transplants, and links to transplant centers, organ procurement organizations, organizations that promote and support organ donation, and professional and patient organizations and resources.

    This web site provides information on RSDS, including features and symptoms, stages, incidence, causes, treatment and diagnosis.
  • Worldwide Congress on Pain
    The Consumer Information portion of this site offers opporutunties to ask medical experts questions, a newsletter, a pain library and other resources for managing pain.

  • Shape Up America
    This web site is designed to provide visitors with the latest information about safe weight management and physical fitness. The BMI Center allows visitors to determine their Body Mass Index.

  • National Rehabilitation Information Center (NARIC)
    NARIC is a library and information center on disability and rehabilitation. Funded since 1979 by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), NARIC collects and disseminates the results of federally funded research projects. NARIC's document collection, which also includes commercially published books, journal articles, and audiovisuals, grows at a rate of 250 new documents per month.
