CancerHelp™ is an easy-to-use, interactive software program designed specifically for cancer patients and their families.
The CancerHelp™ software runs on a touchscreen computer attached to a printer. It includes vital information patients need to make important treatment and lifestyle decisions, including:
- treatment and diagnostic statements from the National Cancer Institute Physician Data Query Database (PDQ);
- NCI's PDQ supportive care information;
- USP DI ® cancer drug information;
- organizations; and
- NCI pamphlets.
The PDQ information is in both English and Spanish. New information is continually added and existing information is updated monthly on CD-ROM.
The CancerHelp™ computer is located in the cancer resource library in the Cancer Care Center on the seventh floor of the 1720 Building and in the
radiation oncology center waiting area on the first floor of the hospital. It is available to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
