Testimonials from Nurses

Julie Feeback, RN, CCRN

The reason I work at CBH is the wonderful people I work with. I found out what an extremely kind and caring group they are when I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Everyone offered to help in any way they could. My coworkers offered to take me to doctor visits, chemo sessions, clean my house, and with fund-raisers. Other employees donated to bake sales and to a mini jar. You don't find that kind of caring just anywhere, and as wonderful as the CBH family was to me, they are to each patient and their family. I could not work as a nurse in a better place!

Christi Ford, RN, BSN

I can proudly say I have worked at CBH for more than 12 years. I started as a new graduate in 1995 and worked on 3N, one of our telemetry units. I have had the privilege of caring for a wide variety of patient populations and feel I have gained a wealth of knowledge through experience, as well as the continuing education the hospital provides for its employees.

Because of the wide variety of opportunities at CBH I recently was able to make a change in my career to a new nursing specialty. My decision was encouraged and supported by my manager, Dee Beckman, and Karen Hill, the Nursing Vice President, and I was welcomed into my new home on our Mother Baby unit with open arms. I am grateful to work at a place where nurses support nurses!

Gaile Bowman, RN

I have spent my entire 35 plus years as a nurse at Central Baptist, mostly in the NICU as either director or staff nurse. As a child, I remember the churches of this region raising money to build the hospital and personally attending the opening ceremony. There was no question in my mind as a new graduate where I wanted to work.

At CBH we are more like family than coworkers. CBH offers such a wide range of opportunities, education and skill advancement within your niche. Currently I am not only a staff nurse in the NICU but a member of the Neonatal Delivery Room Team, which attends requested deliveries in cooperation with our Neonatologist. It is a job I truly love.  All these skills I have acquired at CBH.

This is not only where I practice my profession, but this is where my son was born, where I have had surgery and where I bring my family, as I know the level of care provided to the patients is beyond expectations. Even though I could retire now, I plan on staying part of the CBH family as long as God allows.

Donita Cantrell, RN, BSN

I started at Central Baptist Hospital 10 years ago as a new graduate nurse. During those years,  this hospital has provided me the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally. I have worked in several areas of the hospital, and with each transition, I have been greeted with open arms. The administrative team genuinely cares about the employees and values our opinions, which is very important when looking at potential employers.

Central Baptist Hospital employees are the most caring and professional people I have ever experienced. My coworkers are like family; there may be times when you do not necessarily agree, but in the end, they are the first to encourage and support.  Every day I am amazed by the compassion shown towards our patients, families, and coworkers.

I would recommend this hospital to anyone who is looking for employment, not only because I work here, but also I believe in the quality of care we provide and the overall hospital mission. The hospital encourages the nursing staff to be the best that we can and provides all of the tools to make it possible. I am proud to be a nurse, and even more proud to say that I am nurse at Central Baptist.
