An Operating Room Satellite provides services to the operating room, pre and postoperative areas. The investigational research pharmacy supports an average of 160 open investigational studies.

The Pharmacy utilizes state of the art technology including

• Horizons Meds manager,
• Robot Rx,
• Med Carousel,
• AcuDose cabinets,
• AdminRx (bedside scanning) and a
• Baxa 24 channel IV compounder for medications dispensing.

To enhance patient care and safety, Pharmacists have access to the patient's electronic medical record and electronic nursing charting.

Pharmacists are responsible for multiple clinical initiatives, including:

• renal dosing,
• pharmacokinetic dosing,
• IV to PO switching,
• general drug therapy monitoring and response to patient emergencies.
