Central Baptist's Child Development Center provides high quality child care to children of our employees.

Located at 110 Southland Drive, the center is licensed for 140 children, ages 6 weeks through the fifth grade school year. The center has a private kindergarten and also offers a summer care program for children ages graduating from kindergarten through the summer after fourth grade. Hours are Monday and Tuesday, 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

Daily Programming

Lunch and Snack

Under the guidelines of the Child Care Food Program, the lunch and snack service at the center is "intended to promote the development of good food habits and the furtherance of nutrition education through a well balanced diet, including a wide variety of foods."

The center posts a weekly menu on the parent board in the hall. Each meal follows U.S.D.A. guidelines and includes milk, meat (or alternative), two servings of a vegetable and/or fruit and bread. Each snack consists of fruit//fruit juice and a bread component (pretzels, crackers, breadsticks) or meat alternative (cheese, peanut butter).

The meal and snack schedule is as follows:

Snack: 6:30 a.m.
Breakfast: 9 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30 a.m.
Snack: 3:30 p.m.

Preschool

The rooms at the center are equipped and arranged to provide the optimum in self-exploration and hands-on learning. Programs are planned to meet the needs of the group and the individual child. Concept introduction and lessons to be covered are posted weekly in each classroom. Daily schedules include group activities, art, outdoor activities, rest time and much more.

The center adheres to the standards promoted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Children are placed in classrooms according to their developmental readiness. Teachers complete regular continuing education programs. The center has an open visitation policy and parents are encouraged to call or visit the center as often as possible. In fact, we have a special phone line just for parents (260-6976).

Tuition

Tuition for enrolling your child in the Child Development Center is by weekly contract rate or drop-in rate. Weekly contract rates are currently:

Any hours that exceed the weekly contract are charged at the hourly drop-in rate and must be pre-approved by office staff. Any hours that exceed your daily scheduled hours will be charged at the drop-in rate if not pre-approved by the office before your child's scheduled arrival or pick-up time. Drop-in rates are shown below:

In addition, an annual $25 fee is charged for each child enrolled in the center. Employees have the option of paying for the annual fee by payroll deduction. Tuition is automatically deducted.
