Online Registration Underway for 2012 A Midsummer Night's Run Aug. 11

Online registration is now underway at for the 2012 A Midsummer Night’s Run event scheduled Saturday, Aug. 11 in downtown Lexington. Online registration will continue until noon, Friday, Aug. 10.


In-person registration for the event will begin Monday, July 16 and will extend through Friday, August 10 during regular business hours at John’s Run/Walk Shop, 317 S. Ashland Avenue.


Registration the day of the race will begin at noon outside the Lexington Downtown Hotel at the corner of Vine & Mill streets.


A local summer tradition, A Midsummer Night’s Run regularly attracts more than 5,000 participants. There will be fun for all ages, beginning with the One-Mile Fun Walk/Run at 6 p.m., followed at 6:35 p.m. by the perennial favorite, The Fastest Kid in Town, a series of sprints for children ages 1 through 12. The main event, the 5K Race, will get underway at 8:30 p.m.


All participants in the race receive a T-shirt with their registration. Everyone is  invited to enjoy a free concert, A Midsummer Night’s Music in the Pavilion, starting at 5:30 p.m. and extending until after the race at the Fifth Third Bank Pavilion at Cheapside Park.
