About Us
HealthwoRx is a medical-model health-risk reduction program. Our focus is to impact the health of the community we serve by providing a comprehensive program that includes assessment (health risk identification), intervention (risk reduction strategies, modalities, services and programs), evaluation (monitoring and outcomes measures) and on-going support for individual making long-term lifestyle behavior changes.
The Fitness and Wellness Center
Staffed with trained, certified health and fitness professionals including nurse health educators, registered dietitians, exercise physiologists and fitness practitioners, HealthwoRx Fitness and Wellness Center focuses on providing a safe and guided experience that includes medically based physical conditioning, nutrition consultation, preventive health education, behavior modification and support. Our goal is to help people of all ages and levels of health achieve their individualized goals for better health and fitness.

Membership Rates
HealthwoRx Fitness and Wellness Center is open to EVERYONE. However, all Central Baptist Hospital employees and their families are eligible for discounted membership rates.
Community Membership Fees:
Adults age 18 +
$30 per month / $30 enrollment fee

FAMILY: A family is considered legally, married adults and all dependent children living in the household, providing the dependents are under 21 years old and attending high school or college on a full time basis.
Payment Options: We accept Cash, Check, Debit card or Credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover). Payroll Deduction is available on monthly plans only.

Childcare
HealthwoRx Fitness and Wellness Center offers childcare services for all members. Please read the following information about our policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Hours
Monday – Friday: 8 am – 12 noon
& 4 pm – 8 pm
Saturday: 8 am - 12 noon
Rates
Drop-in fee for childcare is $1.50 per child per visit
OR
A payment card may be purchased for child care services.
30 visits for $35.00
15 visits for $20.00
(EACH CHILD = 1 VISIT)
Childcare Procedures
- Children must be between the ages of 6 months - 10 years
- Parents must be on the premises at all times
- Child care is limited to 90 minutes daily
- Each child must have an admission agreement completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian
- All children must be signed in each visit
- Parents are responsible for meal feeding and toileting before drop-off
- Please change your infant prior to check-in
- Childcare is not available on holidays
- Snacks and drinks are allowed but please send snacks that your child can eat with little clean up. Fast food meals are not permitted.
- Please label all personal items and food/drink containers
- You are not permitted to bring any child but your own. This includes grandchildren
- A ratio of at least 1 employee per 12 children will be maintained at all times. If we are over the limit you may sign your child onto the waiting list for the next available space.
You will be called to the playroom if:
- You exceed the 90 minute time limit
- Your child has had a toileting accident
- Your child is in need or a diaper change
- Your child does not respond to the discipline efforts of our staff
You will be asked to remove your child from the childcare center for the day if:
- Your child has cried uncontrollably for 15 minutes
- Your child has become violent or has bitten another child
- Your child gets hurt or is ill
Inclement Weather Policy
If Fayette County Schools are cancelled due to inclement weather, HealthwoRx Fitness and Wellness Center will open at 9 am. Childcare will only be available from 4pm - 8pm on these days. There will be NO MORNING child care on these days. However, if dangerous weather and poor driving conditions persist throughout the day please call the center to verify childcare availability for the evening hours.
All classes listed below are free for members or available with a class card. Individuals, interested in classes only, can purchase a class card and use it toward any of the classes without joining HealthwoRx Fitness and Wellness Center.

Spinning - Indoor cycling class provides a fun and challenging cardiovascular workout for all fitness levels.

Early Bird - A great way to start your day! A variety of strength training, cardio and flexibility.

Lunch Bunch - A 40 minute lunchtime general fitness class with light cardio, weights and flexibility training.

Barre Fit - A unique, high energy, low impact exercise class that combines barre work and light weight.

Kickboxing - An intense total body workout that combines aerobics, boxing and martial arts.

Strength and Cardio Mix - A mix of cardio, weight training and floor exercises guaranteed to burn calories, strengthen and tone.

PiYo - A hybrid workout combining the mind/body practice of Yoga and Pilates through breathing and dynamic movement. PiYo will help to increase strength, flexibility and balance while helping to reduce stress.

Zumba - Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves create a fun and one-of-a-kind workout.

Specialty Classes
All specialty classes will require the purchase of a class card, including members. Again, individuals interested in classes only can purchase a class card and use it towards any of the classes without joining HealthwoRx Fitness and Wellness Center.

Beginner Yoga - Discover Yoga in this class designed for beginners, but suitable for anyone wishing to explore its many benefits. Develop body awareness, learn basic postures, proper body alignment, and breathing techniques.
Times: Wednesday - 5:30pm
Yoga Flow - A variety of Yoga postures and flowing sequences designed to condition the major joints and muscle groups will be practiced. Deep abdominal breathing along with other types of breath work will be practiced. In addition to developing strength and flexibility, this class will also build stamina. Each class period will start with basic postures and sequences to thoroughly warm the muscles.

Ashtanga Yoga - Ashtanga Yoga builds strength, flexibility, and well-being. Students will learn the first half or Primary series: sun salutations, basic standing postures, seated postures and deep (Ujayi) breathing. Ashtanga yoga is challenging and recommended for students in good physical condition. It is recommended that students have prior yoga experience and strongly recommended that students take the Slow Flow class before attending the Ashtanga class.

Prenatal Yoga - Specifically modified for women in any stage of pregnancy, this class incorporates gentle, safe movements and stretches to strengthen and open the body; breathing exercises to increase calm, focus and balance; and relaxation techniques to help release tension and promote the well being of mother and baby.

Happy Baby Yoga - Mom and baby enjoy Yoga together during this special class designed for babies age 6 weeks to 6 months. You must register for this class. Minimum class size is 4. See staff or call for session dates. 859-260-4354

Restorative Yoga - A special yoga class designed to restore and aid in the healing of the body. Participating in Restorative Yoga is beneficial for every person, but especially those dealing with fatigue and stress associated with a chronic illness.

Beginner Pilates - This Pilates class is for the beginner. The approach is slow and designed for the beginning student to learn the principles of Pilates. This class is excellent for those wishing to fine tune their Pilates practice or those wanting a better understanding of the exercises before taking Mat Pilates.
Times: Saturday - 9:30am
Mat Pilates - Based on the century old teachings of Joseph Pilates, the movements of Pilates isolate the core muscles of the body. Practicing this artful series of exercises will improve posture, increase flexibility and stamina. Pilates is known to be one of the most effective exercises for strong, tight abdominals.

Pilates for Athletes - Pilates provides your body with deep overall conditioning as it elongates, strengthens, and aligns your body and balances the inconsistencies resulting from sport-specific training. Many athletes have turned to Pilates as a great cross-training technique to help them improve their bodies. No matter your sport of choice, Pilates can help you improve it.

Pilates Reformer - The Pilates reformer is an amazingly elegant machine which provides finely tuned exercise resistance that allows one to work very precisely to develop good alignment, core strength, and flexibility. The reformer at HealthwoRx is a Total Workout System Pilates reformer made by Peak Pilates.

Tai Chi - Traditional Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan 16 Posture Hand Form & Traditional Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan 103 Posture Hand Form. You must register for this class. Fee - $70.00 for 8 week session. For more information on Tai Chi click here.
