Diabetes Services

It takes many approaches to fully understand diabetes. At Baptist Health Lexington, we put the pieces together to give you the full picture of a comfortable and healthy life.

Committed: Over twenty years ago, Baptist Health Lexington made the commitment to provide a wide variety of educational offerings and self-management skills to help individuals with diabetes through a program called "Life with Diabetes." Our commitment remains as strong as ever.

Comprehensive: We offer comprehensive education recommended by the American Diabetes Association. Our multidisciplinary team of experts includes certified diabetes educators, registered nurses, registered dietitians, pharmacists, certified personal trainers and a stress counselor. Our gestational diabetes program supports women during and after their pregnancies.

Convenient: We make it convenient for people with diabetes to gain skills and knowledge about their disease by offering group and individual classes at our Lexington Green Mall outpatient location. Morning, afternoon and evening class are available.

Choices: We offer the following services:

  • Diabetes education for Type 1 diabetes, for all ages
  • Diabetes education for Type 2 diabetes, for all ages

Health Services

Our specialty trained certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses can help with living with an Ostomy.  For more information about Ostomy care and education, consult our nurses at (859) 260-6591.


Nutrition Services
Baptist Health Lexington's Diabetes, Health and Nutrition Services are available to you to help answer questions regarding food and nutrition.  Classes and individual sessions are taught by an experienced Registered Dietitian (RD) who is an expert in nutrition and food science.  We believe healthy nutrition should be a lifestyle, and we will work with you to make sure good nutrition fits your active lifestyle and specific food preferences.  All classes include individualized assessment, customized meal planning, menu ideas, and nutritional counseling.  Nutrition topics include:
