Financial Conflicts of Interests in Public Health Service Sponsored Clinical Research
Baptist Health Lexington established the Clinical Research Center (CRC) in 1999. The CRC employs clinical research coordinators who are experts in a variety of clinical areas. More than 40 physicians currently serve as investigators or co-investigators on research projects at Baptist Health Lexington. Our research staff works closely with the patients and physicians who take part in research. Participation in clinical trials is completely voluntary. Our staff and physicians are available to answer questions at any time.
The Clinical Research Center participates in numerous research trials. Some trials involve the study of a new medication, treatment or a medical device. The Institutional Review Board (IRB) is a diverse group of people who reviews each study that is coordinated by the CRC and ensures patient safety at Baptist Health Lexington.
