Prevention, Lifestyle, and Diagnostic Facilities
Although scientists can't predict who will or won't get cancer, they know that certain lifestyle choices place some people at higher risk. For instance, people who smoke have a 10 times greater chance of getting cancer than non-smokers. Central Baptist Hospital offers programs to help people learn about their cancer risks and take positive action:
- Central Baptist Cancer Center Library
- Cancer Registry: Provides support for cancer program development, ensures compliance of reporting standards, and serves as a valuable resource for cancer information.
- Freedom from SmokingĀ®: Classes can help you kick the habit.
- Health Talk: Educational programs about cancer and its prevention are offered through a free speakers bureau.
- Clinical Research Center: Offers cancer-related clinical trials. For more information, contact our oncology clinical research coordinator at (859) 260-4489.
- Genetic Counseling Center: Offering an in-depth evaluation of families with multiple cancers (of the same or different types). For more information call (859) 260-4419.
Advanced Screening and Diagnostic Facilities
