Group Fitness



All classes listed below are free for members or available with a class card.  Individuals, interested in classes only, can purchase a class card and use it toward any of the classes without joining HealthwoRx Fitness and Wellness Center.

Aqua Fit -  The gentle resistance of water offers important benefits for people who are recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain such as arthritis, or helping people ease back into an exercise routine.

Legion Fitness - Classes use primarily body weight exercises, kettle bells, push-ups and pull-ups for a challenging "old school" workout.  Legion classes have been compared to military style exercise and the popular P90X workout system with emphasis on martial arts.

Monday through Thursday:  6am, 6pm

Cardio Fusion - An aerobics class designed to accommodate every-Body and every fitness level.  This class will "fuse" together different cardio exercises to provide a diverse, challenging and fun workout.

Monday - 11am, 5:30pm

Bumps and Babes - A prenatal fitness class.  Come join us for an hour of stretching and light aerobics to stay fit during your pregnancy.  All fitness levels welcome.

Thursday - 4:30pm

 

Body Bar  - is a full body workout that challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses and curls.  Great music, variety, and your choice of weight inspire you to get the results you came for.

Triad - This is the class you've been looking for to get your day stared off on the right track!  15 minutes of cardio followed by 15 minutes of strength training and finally 15 minutes of core exercises and stretching.

R.I.P.P.E.D. -Resistance.  Intervals.  Power.  Plyometrics.  Endurance.  Diet.  This class has it all.

Friday - 5:30pm

 

Tabata Training - Interval training combining cardio and strength.

Xtreme - This is a high-intensity circuit training cardio and strength based class.  Lots of running, jumping, and calorie scorching drills round out this fantastic, high energy, class.  This along with weight training and core work will get you in tip top shape.

Spinning - Indoor cycling class provides a fun and challenging cardiovascular workout for allHealthwoRx fitness levels.

Spin and Sculpt - Lose weight and gain muscle tone at the same time!  A great spinning workout coupled with resistance training.

PiYo - A hybrid workout combining the mind/body practice of Yoga and Pilates through breathing and dynamic movement. PiYo will help to increase strength, flexibility and balance while helping to reduce stress.

Zumba - Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves create a fun and one-of-a-kind workout.

Zumba Gold - Specifically designed to take the exciting Latin dance rhythms and bring them to the active older adult, the beginner, and anyone wanting to experience Zumba at a slower pace.

Beginners Yoga - Discover Yoga in a class designed for beginners.

Yoga - Discover Yoga in this class designed for beginners, but suitable for anyone wishing to explore its many benefits. Develop body awareness, learn basic postures, proper body alignment, and breathing techniques.

Slow Yoga Stretch w/ Chairs - This class is a gentle, supported approach to Yoga suitable for individuals with limited mobility, physical injuries or illnesses, seniors, or anyone who desires a "stretch" at a slower pace.  Class will include standing postures using the chair for support. seated postures, breathing exercises, and guided relaxation.  No prior experience necessary.

Prenatal Yoga - Specifically modified for women in any stage of pregnancy, this class incorporates gentle, safe movements and stretches to strengthen and open the body; breathing exercises to increase calm, focus and balance; and relaxation techniques to help release tension and promote the well being of mother and baby.

Restorative Yoga - A special yoga class designed to restore and aid in the healing of the body.  Participating in Restorative Yoga is beneficial for every person, but especially those dealing with fatigue and stress associated with a chronic illness.

Friday - 10am

 

Pilates Essentials - A foundational mat class based on Joseph Pilates' original exercises and mat order.  This class works to increase flexibility, stamina, and stability while also strengthening the body's core muscles.  The instructor moves at a comfortable pace while guiding students through detailed instruction and individual support.

Saturday - 10:30am

 

Pilates Advanced - for the student who has mastered the Pilates Essentials class and is confident in their knowledge of the classical mat order.  The instructor moves at an accelerated pace challenging students through advanced exercises and props.

Pilates for Athletes - Pilates provides your body with deep overall conditioning as it elongates, strengthens, and aligns your body and balances the inconsistencies resulting from sport-specific training.  Many athletes have turned to Pilates as a great cross-training technique to help them improve their bodies.  It can challenge all levels of athletes from the novice to the professional  No matter your sport of choice, Pilates can help you improve it.  Instructor:  Phyllis Bertram

Silver Sneakers Muscular Strength and Range of Movement - Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living.  Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a Silver Sneakers ball are offered for resistance.  A chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
