Safe Sitter

Safe Sitter is a medically accurate instructional program designed for boys and girls 11 to 13 years old. The immediate goal of Safe Sitter is to reduce the number of preventable deaths among children being cared for by babysitters.

Class includes:

• Safety precautions
• Care for a choking infant of child
• Behavior management
• Accident prevention

PLEASE NOTE: Online registration will close the week prior to class. To register for the class after the deadline, please call (859) 260-6357.

To become a safe sitter, students are required to pass a rigorous written and practical exam. A graduation ceremony is held the last 20 minutes of class, and all parents are encouraged to attend. Pre-payment of $75 is required. Cost includes materials and a babysitting bag. A confirmation letter will be sent with class time, date location and parking instructions upon receipt of your form and payment. Classes are held at HealthwoRx, Baptist Health Lexington's Fitness and Wellness Center, located at Lexington Green Mall. Please have your child bring a sack lunch. We do have drink machines and refrigeration.
