Pregnancy and Parenting After Loss Support Group
Baptist Health Lexington's Pregnancy & Parenting After Loss Support Group is for families who have experienced the loss of a baby and are now facing the mixed emotions that a new pregnancy and parenting bring.
The group is open to anyone who has experienced a loss through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, newborn death, SIDS or SUIDS regardless of physician or hospital where care was provided, where delivery is planned. and regardless of how long it has been since the loss. This is not a therapy group, but a self-help support group.
A speaker is scheduled for each meeting to offer a brief presentation on a topic of interest. Discussion is not limited to the presentation topic. Each meeting includes independent sharing based on concerns and interests expressed by the participants in addition to specific topics. Interaction among the group is encouraged; however, attendees are not required to participate if they are not comfortable doing so. A perinatal bereavement support person facilitates each meeting.
The Pregnancy & Parenting After Loss Support Group meets from 10:30 a.m. - noon the first Wednesday of each month in Building E at Baptist Health Lexington at 1740 Nicholasville Road. The meetings take place in the lower level of the building in specific rooms listed below. Free valet parking is available in the nearby East parking garage.
There is no fee to attend the support group, and reservations are not necessary. If you have questions about this group, please call Debbie Mueller at 859-260-6904 or email her at email@example.com.
