Focus on Healing Through Movement and Exercise

Focus on Healing combines graceful movements from ballet and therapeutic exercises that will help you gently regain strength in your upper body, stretch your muscles and increase your circulation. Focus on Healing is suitable for women of all ages and fitness levels. No special training or experience is required.

Focus on Healing Through Movement and Exercise, "The Lebed Method," is a therapeutic exercise program for women who have had any kind of breast surgery, node dissection, radiation, chemotherapy or who suffer from chronic fatigue. Two physicians and a dance movement specialist created this program to help women regain and maintain range of motion, help reduce the risk of lymphedema, help prevent frozen shoulder, help decrease depression, add to increased sexuality and be fun. Certain exercises can be one of the significant preventive measures for future problems for survivors, from one day after surgery to 30 years after surgery.

Come join us for an uplifting and emotionally rewarding exercise class and experience…

  • Increased range of motion
  • Reduced risk of lymphedema
  • Improved self-image

Focus on Healing is taught by Shari Stewart, a nurse and professional dance instructor who is certified in "The Lebed Method" of therapeutic exercise.
